Eryngium

Wholesale eryngium, also sold as sea holly, farm-direct from Ecuador. Eryngium is the thistle-like flower with a spiky collar and a metallic blue-violet cast — one of the very few genuinely blue flowers that is not tinted or dyed.

That naturally occurring blue is why it appears so often in coastal, rustic and industrial-styled weddings, and in any palette built around dusty blue or silver where an authentic tone is wanted rather than an absorption-dyed rose.

Electric Blue is our standing line. The structural, architectural form provides contrast against round flowers such as roses and ranunculus, and it holds its shape completely out of water, making it reliable for buttonholes, boutonnières and hair pieces.

Eryngium dries exceptionally well, keeping both its shape and its blue colour almost indefinitely. Many designers build a few dried pieces from each order as keepsakes.
