Terracotta is the colour that defines the muted, earth-toned palettes that have dominated wedding design in recent years — the dusty clay and rust tones couples usually show a photograph for rather than name.

Coffee Break is the signature variety: elegant terracotta petals carrying hues of brown and orange, distinctive enough that designers specify it directly. Toffee runs warmer and softer. Country Home and Country Blues sit at the dustier end, closer to muted clay.

These roses are chosen for atmosphere rather than brightness. They work with raw wood, linen, dried grasses and unglazed ceramics, and they suit autumn weddings, desert and boho styling, and any palette built around rust, sage and cream. Against burgundy and deep green they read rich; against white they read dramatically muted.
