Japanese cedar asparagus is a fine, feathery green with a soft needle texture on flexible stems. It behaves quite differently from broad-leaf foliage: rather than filling space with mass, it fills it with air, softening the outline of an arrangement and blurring the edges between flowers.

That makes it the standard choice for garden-style and romantic bouquets where a hard silhouette would look too formal. It is light enough to sit in hand-tied bouquets without adding weight, and flexible enough to follow a curve.

Strip any growth below the waterline; the fine foliage breaks down quickly if submerged. Conditioned properly it holds well over a week.
