Mini carnations, sometimes called spray carnations, carry several small blooms on a single branching stem rather than one large head. That makes them a filler and a flower at once — they add colour and texture in the middle layer of an arrangement where a full carnation would be too heavy and a true filler too faint.

They are among the best-value stems available, giving multiple heads per stem, and they share the durability of standard carnations: two to three weeks of vase life, high tolerance for heat and handling, and no tendency to drop petals.

They work particularly well in DIY wedding boxes, buttonholes, corsages and small-scale table arrangements where a full-size bloom would overwhelm the vessel.
