Photinia is cut foliage with a distinctive advantage: new growth emerges bright red before maturing to glossy green, so a single stem carries both tones. That gives colour and foliage in one product, which is unusual in greenery.

Designers use it in autumn and Christmas work where red foliage supports the palette without adding another flower, and in arrangements that need warmth in the green layer rather than the cool grey of eucalyptus.

The leaves are firm and glossy, hold their shape well out of water during setup, and last two weeks or more once conditioned. Strip anything below the waterline.
