Plumosus is the fine, lacy asparagus fern with flat, feathery fronds. Where broad-leaf greenery fills space with mass, plumosus fills it with air — softening the outline of an arrangement and blurring the edges between flowers rather than adding another block of green.

It is the traditional greenery in corsages, buttonholes and classic hand-tied bouquets, and it remains the standard where a delicate, romantic finish is wanted. It is light enough to add volume without weight.

Strip anything sitting below the waterline; the fine foliage breaks down quickly if submerged. Conditioned properly it holds well over a week, and it dries acceptably for preserved work.
